Thomas "Tom" Plichta, the devoted son of Ray and Sue Plichta (both deceased) passed away of natural causes at home on July 12, 2021. He is survived by his sister, Karen, and many caring relatives, friends and neighbors.

Tom was born in Fall River, MA and graduated from Holy Cross Grammar School, BMC Durfee High School and Northeastern University with a degree in Marine Biology. For many years, Tom worked for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in Narragansett, RI. Throughout his life, he was fascinated by oceanic conditions, sea life, and the protection of marine mammals and endangered species.

While Tom faced challenging health issues in adulthood, he spent most days content with life's simple pleasures. He especially enjoyed watching television game shows and was a huge fan of Boston's sports teams. He enjoyed sharing breakfast and lunch with the friendly staff at the Highland Restaurant, St. Anne's Hospital Cafeteria, and the Boathouse Restaurant. Tom was a member of the former Sts. Peter and Paul Parish at Holy Cross Church.

Funeral arrangement will be handled by the Boyko Memorial Funeral Home, 709 Broadway, Fall River, MA. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stanislaus Parish, Rockland St, Fall River, MA on July 19 at 10:00am with visitation from 8:30 AM to 9:30 am. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Fall River.
