NEW BEDFORD... Sebastiao L. Teixeira, 76, of New Bedford, passed away, December 25, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital following a long illness. He was the husband of the late Herminia (Ilarraza) Teixeira. Born in St. Vincent, Cape Verde he was the son of the late Henrique Leitao and Julia A. Teixeira and had lived in New Bedford since 1983. Mr. Teixeira worked in the fishing industry since 1983; he was a fisherman on the F/V Paulina Maria and worked at Atlantic Coast. He retired from Hygrade Fisheries of New Bedford. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Survivors include 2 step-daughters: Rosalia Mangual and Maria Mojica, both of New Bedford, 2 step-sons: Pedro Mojica of Worchester, MA and Angel Mojica of Mississippi, 8 grandchildren, 4 great-children and his companion Wanda Echevarria of New Bedford. He is pre-deceased by 3 children. Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday at 1PM at Inglesia de Dios Restauraccion Minesterio, 87 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford.
