NEW BEDFORD.... Paulo G. Mello, 56 of New Bedford passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at his home. Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Antonio and Maria C. (Silva) Melo and had lived in New Bedford since 1973. Mr. Mello was a communicant of St. Lawrence Martyr Church in New Bedford and served in the United State Army. He worked as a Carpenter, doing what he loved. He enjoyed cooking, helping out at local soup kitchens and performing community service. Survivors include his siblings: Joseph Mello, Grace Santos, Anthony Mello and Helen Costa, all of New Bedford; several nieces and nephews. A service will be announced at a later date.
