FALL RIVER ... Natalie (Almeida) Halpen, 69, of Fall River, passed away August 17, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital, following a long illness. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Bella (Uncao) Almeida and had been a lifelong resident of this city. She was the widow of William Halpen. She was a communicant of St Patrick's Church, Fall River. Mrs. Halpen enjoyed gambling, television and the Rex Sox. Survivors include 6 daughters: Natalie Darling of Richmond, VA, Darlene Poling of Newport, RI, Debi Snyder of Greenville, VA, Linda Hathaway of Swansea, Cindy Halpen of Pittsfield, MA and Susan Lajoie of Fall River, 1 brother: Edward Almeida of Fall River, 1 Sister: Ruthie McCormick of Fall River, 16 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday, August 22, 2011 at 8 PM at SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River. Calling hours will be Monday, 5-8 PM.
