FALL RIVER... Madaline Mello, 80, of Fall River passed away December 18, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. Born in St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Olivia Mello and had been a resident of this city since her early 20's. She was a communicant of Santo Christo Church and became a proud US Citizen in 1997. Madaline enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her son: Robert Mello and his wife Jennifer of Fall River, her daughter: Kathleen Fernandes of Fall River, 2 brothers: Louis Mello of Fall River and Anibal Mello of California, 3 sisters: Maria Oliveira and Delia Griffin, both of Fall River and Dina Partaker of California, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was the mother-in-law of the late Antonio Fernandes and the sister of the Late Edward Mello. Services to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Wednesday at 8 AM from the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant St., Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia Street, Fall River. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
