Lawrence M. "Larry" Oliveira Obituary (2014)

FALL RIVER... Lawrence M. "Larry" Oliveira, 66, of Somerset passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Joanne (Doraz) Oliveira of Somerset. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Arthur and Gloria (Travers) Oliveira and had lived in Somerset since 1987. Larry was employed for 30 years with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts retiring in 2013 as the Assistant Chief of Juvenile Probation. He was a communicant of Blessed Trinity Parish in Fall River. Mr. Oliveira was Past President of the Fall River Country Club and was an avid golfer. He received a Bachelor of Arts in History from the former S.M.U. now UMass Dartmouth. Survivors include his widow, a daughter Laurie Dionisio of New Bedford, 2 sons: Jay Oliveira and Matthew Oliveira both of Somerset, 5 grandchildren: Peyton Oliveira, Emmary Oliveira, Dylan Dionisio, Adriana Dionisio, and Maks Oliveira. Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday at 11:30 A.M. from the BOYKO MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 709 Broadway, Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon at Blessed Trinity Parish, 1340 Plymouth Ave., Fall River.
