Jo’Ann (Kelley) Newton Obituary (2023)

NEW BEDFORD... Jo'Ann (Kelley) Newton, age 61, passed away at home on Monday, February 27, 2023. Born in South Boston, Jo'Ann was daughter of the late Dennis and Joan T. (DeCosta) Kelley. Jo'Ann was a dedicated parishioner of New Life Church in New Bedford. She loved painting and going for walks. She also enjoyed ancestry research. Survivors include: daughter, Jessica Cole; brother, Daniel Kelley of South Carolina; sisters, Gladys Collins of Marlborough, MA and Arlene Chisholm of Stoughton, MA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jo'Ann was also predeceased by her sister, the late Diane Kelley. There are no services scheduled, but in honor of Jo'Ann's memory, the family would like to encourage donations be made in her name to your area homeless shelters.
