FAIRHAVEN... Carol M. (Singleton) Hurley , 67, recently of Fairhaven, was laid to eternal peace on January 23, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospital, New Bedford after an a short battle with Covid-19. Born in Boston, MA, she grew up & lived most of her life in Charlestown, MA, where she graduated from Charlestown High School in 1971, got married & raised her 2 children until moving to the New Bedford area where she remained part of the community for the past 24 years. Carol worked for many years at Shrafft's Candy, Filene's Basement Distribution Center, & Chamberlain School in Middleboro. Cherished daughter of the late Shirley M. Kelly, of Salem, NH, devoted mother of Christine M. Borges (Hurley) of Lowell, MA & Kevin S. Hurley of Boston, MA, loving grandmother of Kelsey Borges, Aidan Hurley, the late William A. Hallahan, II, Riley-Rose, Rory-Joseph, Iyla, & Bree Hurley; adored great-grandmother of "J.J." Figueroa & longtime friend of Robert Thomits of New Bedford. Caring sister of Robert Singleton of Naples, FL, Patrick Kelly of New Market, NH & Kevin Kelly of Raleigh, NC; niece of Mary Jennex of Chelsea, MA, Carol had also left behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Memorial service be held sometime in the Spring 2021, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem NH.
