Bernadette M. (Bernier) Coelho Obituary (2021)

FALL RIVER... Bernadette M. (Bernier) Coelho, 85, of Fall River passed away February 23, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late John Coelho. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Ovila and Lucie (Benoit) Bernier and had been a lifelong resident of this city. Mrs. Coelho was a communicant of Espirito Santo Church and had last worked as a Cafeteria Assistant for the Fall River School Department. She was a volunteer with the St. Vincent de Paul Exchange Store and had enjoyed puzzles, word searches and playing Bingo. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and cherished family dinners together. Survivors include her children: Ann Marie Coelho and her wife Rachel Robitaille of West Greenwich, RI, John J. Coelho and his wife Jean of North Providence, RI, Robert P. Coelho of Fall River and Jeanne Marie Ferreira of Bristol, RI; her grandchildren: Caylee Coelho, Benjamin Ferreira and Abigail Ferreira; her sister: Dolores Baxley of Middleburg, FL; several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jacqueline Belanger, Eugene Bernier and Lucien Bernier. Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday, March 1, 2021 at 9 AM from South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, MA 02723 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Espirito Santo Church, Alden St. Fall River. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Sunday February 28, 2021 from 5 - 7:30 PM.
