Armand A. Yokel Obituary (2007)

FALL RIVER ... Armand A. Yokel, 93, of Fall River died Sunday, January 14, 2007 after a long illness. He was the husband of Yvonne (Desrosiers) Yokel of Fall River. He died at St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River. He was born in Fall River a son of the late Louis and Mary (Lineau) Yokel and had lived in Fall River most of his life. He was employed as a firefighter at the Newport Naval Base for 30 years retiring in 1969. Mr. Yokel enjoyed traveling, and reading the newspaper. Survivors include his widow 2 sons: Armand L. Yokel of Dartmouth and Richard P. Yokel of Fall River, 3 brothers: Romeo Yokel, Paul Yokel, and Henry Yokel all of Fall River, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Arthur Yokel, Louis Yokel, Azilda Posey, Floe Bastille, and Marie Cabral. Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Thursday at 9 AM from the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, (508-672-0291) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, 529 Eastern Ave., Fall River. Entombment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday 4 - 7 PM.
